5th Annual

Kid's & Teen Triathlon

July 11, 2009

The 5th annual Kid's and Teen Triathlon will be held at Shanklin Park on Saturday, July 11th.

Athletes ages 5 through 18 are invited to participate in this professionally timed event. Contact Goshen Parks, 534-2901, for additional details and to register.

BRUSH PICKUP

Next brush pick up will be the week of July 27th!

The City of Goshen cannot be responsible for disposal of large tree limbs and debris from a home owner's or contractor's tree removal.  This is beyond the scope of normal yard waste.

Brush piles should be placed at the curb, not in the street.  No brush will be picked up in city alleys, and piles are to be trash-free and placed away from utility poles, fire hydrants or trees.  If vehicles are parked in front of brush piles the street crew can not pick up the pile.

Brush should not be put out for collection until the Saturday or Sunday just prior to start of the scheduled collection week.

For those with a large amount of brush or yard waste between the scheduled collection dates, residents have two options.  A Dial-A-Truck is available to use at no cost to residents; contact the Street Department for details.  Or, the Elkhart County Landfill, 59530 County Rd. 7 South, is available for an established fee.

Any resident with questions may call the Goshen Street Department at 534-9711, Monday-Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

On September 1, 2007 smoking became prohibitive in places of public accommodation within the City of Goshen.
