The Goshen Building Department
issues building permits and enforces building codes. A building
permit is required if major improvements, such as new construction,
re-roofing, siding, or additions, are to be made to the property.
Contact the Building Department if you are unsure if you need a
building permit. The Building Department also handles licenses for
electrical and heating contractors.
All rental units in Goshen must be registered with the Building
Department. Rental units must also have a bi-annual inspection.
Contact the Building Department to find out if your rental unit has
been registered and properly inspected. Before making any
conversions of single family homes, a call should be made to check
zoning compliance.
