The Central Garage maintains and repairs City equipment in a prompt, efficient manner to improve services to City of Goshen residents and businesses.
The Central Garage staff consists of seven mechanics who maintain 350 pieces of equipment/vehicles for the various City departments. The department is responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs on sewer trucks, loaders, backhoes, snow removal equipment, emergency response vehicles, etc.
It is the responsibility of the Central Garage to coordinate warranty repairs, install emergency/safety lighting on First Responders and up-fitting City Police cars with all required equipment.
The Central Garage also writes the specifications for any/new used automotive equipment or vehicles obtained by the City.
