Bicycle-to-Work week coincides with Municipal Government Week, May 14 - May 18, 2012. City employees hope to increase public awareness about municipal government.

This year's theme again is "At Your Service. Ask Me!"

City employees are competing in the governmental challenge for the Stamp Out Hunger Campaign sponsored by the National Letter Carriers Association which is tomorrow, May 12th.

Ride with Mayor Allan Kauffman on Monday, May 14, to kick off Bicycle-to-Work Week.

Bicycle-to-Work Week is May 14-18, and the Maple City Bicycle Advisory Committee (MCBAC) is encouraging people in Goshen to bike to work that week.

As a way to kick off the week, the MCBAC has asked Goshen Mayor Allan Kauffman to lead an after-work “Mayor’s Ride” on Monday, May 14. Any interested cyclist is wel...come to join the 4.5 mile ride.

THERE’S STILL TIME – ‘BEAUTIFY GOSHEN’ WEEK, DISPOSAL PROGRAM THROUGH SATURDAY.

Street Commissioner Dennis Long reports, “Goshen residents have been busy making their homes, lawns and neighborhoods shipshape; the huge number of items brought to the Street Department since last Saturday is proof!”

There is still time to take advantage of these additional disposal services at the collection site..., 475 Steury Ave.

This Saturday, May 12, 2012, is the National Association of Letter Carriers 20th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Won't you consider helping out?  It is easy!

1. Collect and bag non-perishable food items.
2. Place the bags by your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up.

Traffic is temporarily detoured along the Millrace Trail on Tuesday, May 8th and Wednesday, May 9th. Existing asphalt is being removed and replaced with aggregate material. The trail is rerouted to South 3rd St. from Douglas to Jefferson.

Re:  NOTICE OF BOIL ORDER

Location:  Woodward Place, Reservoir Place and River Vista Drive

On May 7, 2012 the City of Goshen will be shutting down the water main from 10am to approximately 2 pm to repair  water main break. The City is required to issue a water boil order for the affected area: Woodward Place, Reservoir Place and River Vista Drive will be affected.

Today is First Friday in Downtown Goshen and that means it is time for the "I Love Goshen Bicycle Criterium." The bicycle race course is beginning to close. The course begins at Washington and 5th St. heading west to Main St., then south on Main to Jefferson. The course then runs east on Jefferson to 7th St. turning north on 7th and back west on Washington. Racers begin practicing around 5:15 pm. Race ends around 8:30 pm. So plan your travels accordingly. It should be fun!
