Downtown Goshen Economic Improvement District

The regular meetings of the Downtown Goshen Economic Improvement District Board will take place on the first Thursday of each month, excepting July, as set forth in the schedule below. The meetings will be held in the conference room located in Goshen City Hall at 202 South 5th Street, Goshen, Indiana. All meetings of the Goshen Downtown Economic Improvement District Board are open to the public with the exception of an executive session that may be held as authorized by Indiana Code §5-14-1.5-6.1. The Board may schedule meetings in addition to those listed above as necessary, subject to public notice requirements.

Maple City Walk

The 16th Annual Maple City Walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2024. Participants have their choice between a marathon, half-marathon and 10K as they enjoy a beautiful walk  or run along the Maple City Greenway and Pumpkinvine Nature Trail. All participants will check in and start their walk at the Clover Hills Building at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds. From there, they will follow the Maple City Greenway and Pumpkinvine Nature Trail until they reach their respective turnaround points. ***EVENT IS NOT PROFESSIONALLY TIMED


Registration

You may register for the event in person at the Goshen Parks & Recreation Administrative Offices located at 524 E. Jackson St., Goshen, Indiana 46526. You may also register online using the following link https://maplecitywalk.com/

**The event registration can be found under the All Activities & Events tab on the registration platform. New users must create an account by clicking on the account tab prior to registering. 

Day-of registration is available on Saturday, September 14 starting at 7:30 am at the Clover Hills Building located at the following address:

Schedule

7:30 am: Day-of registration and check-in at Elkhart County Fairgrounds, Gate 6, Clover Hills Building. Parking is adjacent (17746 County Rd 34, Goshen, IN) until the walk begins. There are portable toilets at Gate 6 and along the route.

8:00 am: Marathon, Half-marathon and 10K begins. Walkers are allowed 5 hours to complete the 13.1-mile course along the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail and 9 hours to complete the 26-mile course.


Course Notes

  • Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • A roving volunteer will carry a first aid kit. In case of emergency, call 911.
  • Water and light refreshments provided.
  • Bring your own water bottle. You can fill personal water bottles and pick up light refreshments at the halfway point.
